KumaTomo and KumaGuardian are services provided by WeMeet Ltd., designed to support children's emotional and educational development while protecting privacy and data security in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and Google Play & App Store policies.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to provide a personalized and secure experience for your child.

A. From Children (via KumaTomo):

  • Voice/text inputs (processed in real time, not stored)
  • Emotional tagging of interactions (e.g., feeling sad, happy, confused)
  • Progress and topic metadata (e.g., completed stories or games)
  • Profile image (optional, used only for distinguishing between siblings)
  • Facial recognition template (optional, stored locally or securely for sibling protection login)

❗ Important: Facial recognition is never used for advertising or third-party analytics. It is used only to protect children's privacy from unauthorized sibling access.

B. From Parents (via KumaGuardian):

  • Email, login, and linked child profiles
  • Consent and configuration (e.g., guidance preferences for KumaTomo responses)
  • Access to child's wellbeing trends, emotional records, and progress reports

3. Data Storage & Retention

  • Wellbeing and interaction data is stored as long as the account remains active, to support long-term developmental insight.
  • Profile photo and facial data are stored securely, with access limited to account protection use only.
  • Data is deleted upon account deletion by the parent via KumaGuardian or upon verified request.

4. Parental Consent & Controls

  • KumaTomo is only available to children with verified parental consent.
  • Parents can review all data associated with their child, update settings, or delete data at any time.
  • Children do not need to remember passwords. Instead, facial recognition is optionally used to protect each child's privacy and prevent sibling account switching.

5. Data Sharing and Security

We do not sell or share data with third parties for advertising.

We only share data:

  • With technology providers (e.g., cloud or AI inference services) under strict privacy agreements
  • As required by law or to protect the child's safety

All data is encrypted during transmission and at rest. Facial data is either stored locally or using encrypted biometric formats.

6. Your Rights

Parents and legal guardians have the right to:

  • Access or update personal data
  • Delete or export all data associated with their child
  • Withdraw consent at any time

Requests can be made through the KumaGuardian app or via privacy@wemeetapp.net.

7. International Transfers

All data is processed in GDPR-compliant regions. If transferred, we use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure data safety.
